Print That Survives the Room It Lives In

Why lamination matters more in some environments than others

Most printed material in a working environment fails long before anyone planned to replace it. Menus curl and stain after a weekend of service. Training cards go soft on a humid line. Reference sheets tear at the fold, and price inserts get thrown out because a single item changed.

Lamination solves all of that, but only if it's specified correctly. The most common failure isn't the film, it's the edge. Flush-cut lamination is trimmed level with the paper, which looks slimmer but leaves the sheet exposed on all four sides, so the first pass through a wash-up station starts lifting it.

We seal instead. Sometimes called encapsulation, sealed-edge lamination leaves a narrow border where the two films bond to each other, so the paper is completely enclosed and there is no exposed edge for moisture, grease or cleaning products to get into. For anything that gets wiped down, carried through a kitchen or handled with wet hands, that is the specification that matters.

What's Included

Complete lamination and finishing options for print that has to last

Gloss Lamination

Enhances colour and contrast with a hard, wipe-clean surface. The most economical finish and the standard choice for dine-in menus and high-traffic signage.

Matte Lamination

A soft, low-glare finish that stays readable under bright or overhead lighting. Suited to fine dining menus, wall charts and anything that will be photographed.

Soft Touch Lamination

A velvet-textured film that signals quality the moment a piece is picked up. Fingerprint- and scuff-resistant, and used for premium menus, covers and presentation cards.

Sealed-Edge Encapsulation

The laminate extends beyond the sheet and bonds to itself, fully sealing all four edges. Wipe clean with mild soapy water and a food-safe disinfectant. Because the edges are sealed, cleaning fluid cannot get between the film and the paper. Avoid bleach, abrasives and dishwashers.

Print and Laminate In-House

Printing and lamination happen under one roof, so colour is matched once and controlled through to the finished piece rather than handed between suppliers. We can also laminate finished sheets you've had printed elsewhere.

Multi-Location Rollouts

One production run, coordinated distribution to every site. Consistent colour and finish across a franchise network, without each location ordering separately.

Finishes

Gloss, matte and soft touch: the same protection, a different feel

Gloss, matte and soft touch lamination finishes compared side by side

All three finishes protect equally well. Gloss deepens colour and contrast, matte cuts glare under bright light, and soft touch adds a premium, fingerprint-resistant texture. The choice comes down to aesthetics and the lighting where the piece will be used.

Common Applications

What our clients laminate most often

Restaurant Menus

Dine-in, takeout, drink and dessert menus that are handled by every guest and wiped down between them. Available flat or folded, in letter, legal and 11 × 17".

Table Tents & Price Inserts

Promotional inserts, specials cards and table tents. Laminate the core menu and print the changing insert separately so a price change doesn't mean a full reprint.

Training & Reference Cards

Prep cards, line checks, station procedures, safety notices and equipment instructions, sized to live where the work happens and survive being handled wet.

Tags, Passes & Badges

Employee badges, parking permits, equipment and asset tags, hall passes and event credentials. Sealed edges and optional rounded corners for daily handling.

Loyalty & Membership Cards

Loyalty, membership, gift and appointment cards that live in a wallet for months and need to come out looking the same as they went in.

Signage & Wall Charts

Kitchen reference posters, food safety and HACCP charts, seating plans, directional signage and notices for environments where paper doesn't last the week.

Standard Sizes

Seven stock sizes, plus custom sizes on request

Our Process

From specification to delivery

1

Consultation & Specification

We start with how the piece will actually be used, then recommend a size and finish to match. Wrong specification is the most common reason laminated material fails early. There is no minimum order.

2

Pre-Press & Proofing

Files are checked for bleeds, resolution and colour mode, matched to your brand standards, and proofed for approval before anything goes to press.

3

Print & Laminate

Printing and lamination are handled in-house, so colour is controlled from press through to finished piece, with consistent results across repeat and multi-location orders.

4

Finishing & Delivery

Trimming, corner rounding, quality inspection and delivery, to a single location or coordinated across a national network.
